In 1986 a group of people with a sincere desire to meet God through His Word, began a home Bible study in Carrollton, Kentucky. That group did not want to just learn “about” God, but they had a strong desire to “know” Him. God responded to that desire and as a result the Bible study began to grow in number. Thus, in 1988 the group, under the leadership of Pastor Pat Butcher acquired retail space at the Park Square Shopping Center in Carrollton and the first service of Family Worship Center was held on December 31st, 1988.
From the early days of the Bible study group of 35 people to a current membership of over 600, the church in Carrolton continues to grow. This growth in numbers led to the construction in 1993 of their current facility.
Part of the vision God gave to Pastors Pat and Brooke Butcher is that of planting churches throughout the state of Kentucky
